Probably not, the range of the light is so limited that it’s laughable. If it acted like a flashlight rather than the weird circular glow around your character, then yeah, I’d use it a lot more. As it stands, though, I think it’s pretty useless, and honestly most locations aren’t dark enough to warrant the use of a light anyway.
