1. No, you pay anything at all to be able to play on-line with your PS3.
2. None, they both equal graphics and not one is better than the other.
3. The Xbox 360 is around £159.99, where as the Playstation 3 costs £299.99 all thought the PS3 does come with more in it and its getting a price cut bringing it down £249.99.
4. Yes, the Playstation 3 does have Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: World at War
5. It has the exact same downloadable maps as the Xbox 360 version.
6. Again like the answer I gave from #1, no you don't have to a penny to Sony to be able to play on-line with your Playstation 3. You don't even have to give them any credit card details unless your buying extra downloadable content from the playstation store.
7. I would buy the PS3 if I were you. With the Xbox 360 you have to like £39.99 every year to be able to just get play on-line games. If you bought a four year subscription to xbox live, then it would be a total of £159.94, Thats the price of another 360. Overall with the PS3 if the I would pick and in the long run you won't pay as much as you would with the 360.
