i've played RO and every time i try to download a private server i can never get it to work. I had it working a few times, it's on and off. So i stopped playing mmo's for like a year, i'm looking for something again, just not RO this time. i have a long history with games like maple story, RO, WOW, and all those fun games. I either get hooked or don't, WOW just didn't appeal to me as much as i know it should have, (probably cause of money.) RO was wicked, but i'm looking to start with a new type of mmo i guess. rune scape didn't really like it, and i got guild wars i just don't play it for some reason. Right at this very moment i am playing perfect world, but i wouldn't mind something with a bit more variety.

Have i already played them all? or is there still something fun with a kick to it, mind you i do like perfect world so far. I don't think there is anything wrong with it, however i'm still low level and could adapt to a new game if i switched over now. Thought i'd scout out any last minute's.

Preferably, there is one game that I've kept in mind that seems to be a "Pay-Once, and Forever Free" game. It's called, "Guild Wars." Many people say it's not really an MMORPG because a lack of some elements, but it's truly an on MMO. The skills within this game are incredibly balanced and there is never a "Dominating" class. However, the game's Role-Play is really boring because there are only two tasks: Retrieve/Talk to a certain NPC/Check Point & "Fight off this many enemies." If I were to have a comment about Guild Wars, I would say that, "The role-play just.. sucks. The Player verses player? It's amazing." My top choice for recreational gaming? Guild Wars.

I know that Nexon (www.nexon.net) specializes in free to play online games.

Turbine just announced that Dungeons & Dragons Online would become free to play sometime this summer. I've never played it so I'm not sure if it's any good.

I think one of the best options is Guild Wars, though. Especially since you own it. I think it's an acquired taste, though.
