What is the best MMORPG?

Postby hiro » Sun Jul 26, 2009 3:09 am

3 MMORPG questions:
1) What is the most fun MMORPG?
2) What is the cheapest subscription MMORPG e.g. subscription is £5 a month. I don't mean Guild Wars where there is no subscription.
3)What is the best buy it and never pay a subscription MMORPG?
Some stuff:
GeForce FX: 5500
Ram: 256MB
Thanks.

What people consider the 'best' or 'most fun' MMORPG will vary from person to person based on personal tastes. One person may be nuts for World of Warcraft, while another can't stand it.

Honestly, I refuse to pay for a monthly subscription when I can play games of equal quality, depth, and features for free. I know you said that you would prefer games you have to pay for. The best thing I can suggest is that if a game has a free trial, then give it s shot and see if you like it.

As for which one has the cheapest subscription, I have no clue.

Here are the MMORPGs I play if you would like to look into them:
- Maple Story
- Fly For Fun (aka; FLYFF)
- Trickster
- Mabinogi
- Nostale
- Tale of Pirates

EDIT: I agree with what another person said about your system being a bit under par. My system is a bit better than the one you listed, but it still is not all that good. I got this computer 7 years ago and never upgraded it. I would need a new video card and another gig of RAM to be able to play the majority of MMOs today. The ones I play lag a bit, especially when I am on a screen with a fair amount of other people. You may want to update your system or you'll be stuck playing lower quality games.

With that system, you're not going to be able to play any modern MMO.

That would have run Everquest 10 years ago just fine, but that won't run it today.

You may be interested in something less graphically intensive, like FreeRealms, which is free to play, with the option of paying $5 a month to have full access to the game (you're limited to 1 character per account instead of 3, you're unable to access all of the quests items without full access, and full access has leader boards).

But even with 256m RAM, you're going to have slow load times.
