Gamecube or Play Station 2?

Gamecube or Play Station 2?

Postby zblylyzb » Thu Oct 15, 2009 6:41 pm

Should I buy a Gamecube or PS2? I don't know very much about either, so I'll ask you guys. :)

1. How much is a Gamecube/PS2 and their controllers in stores?
2. How much are their games?
3. Which has more selection of games?
4. Can you use a Gamecube game on PS2 or vice versa?
5. Which one supports DDR and Guitar Hero?

Thanks to any info!

1. Gamecube is $30 at game-stop and the PS2 is $60. They both come with one controller.
2. Price depends on the game
3. They both have a pretty large selection.
4. No.
5. PS2.

Gamecubes you can no longer buy brand new in a store like walmart. however, our video rental store is selling a few used Gamecubes for $30, as well as a pawn shop and a gamers store for the same price. PS2's you can buy brand new, they recently droped the price to $99. Either system will come a controller. A controller for a PS2 goes from $20-30ish (for wireless), i'd recommend checking in your area for a store that sells video games and consoles only as they will have used systems in as wells as controllers, memory sticks, and games. I'd think a Gamecube controller should cost about $20 or less if you can find it used.

Games for both systems vary alot, depending on how popular the game was mainly. I've seen game for both systems as low as $5 and as high as $50.

Nope Gamecube can only play Gamecube games, actually my kids have a Gamecube and the game discs are very small, they can fit in the palm of your hand. PS2's discs are normal size, DVD size. PS2 can only play PS2 games, and I think maybe some or all PS1 games.

IDK what DDR is, but I know there Guitar Hero for PS2, i dont think there is for Gamecube though.

1. You can find a used gamecube for around 30 bucks now a days prob a lil more for a new one but not much, a ps2 used maybe 100, extra controllers for each are around 15

2. The price on games vary from 10-maybe 50 bucks, the games are starting to get older so they are cheaper

3. Each has a pretty good selection, gamecube has all the mario games and alot of party games, i think more childish. The PS2 has good selection of sport games, shooters and strategy

4. You can not use ps2 on gamecube and vice versa

5. I think both support DDR and i think only PS2 supports guitar hero but not positive
