I have a 16 GB USB flash drive. I was curious if it is possible to run Diablo 2 and Lord of Destruction (expansion) from it. So no installation, just plug in the drive and run the program. This is possible with Starcraft, and since they are both old games I know that they rely much less on Application Data and other Windows and computer specific files. Is this possible? Even if I have to insert the disk, is it still possible to use only the files from the usb drive?

P.S. Will Diablo damage my jumpdrive? I don't know how frequently Diablo 2 writes to the hard disk, but I know it will die after 10k writes or so, and I would like to keep this flash drive alive as long as possible. Thanks.
