This is via observation, as I am not much of a gamer myself. My husband has Fable 2, and LOVED it. It took him a while to beat it, which is how I judge the value of a game. I hate spending 60 dollars just for him to sit down and beat it (Mirror's Edge took three sittings, and he beat it). Fable 2 has a TON of different options, so you really control your game. It seems to be very open-ended, and once you beat it Good/Evil, I think you can play it again the other way. SO, it took him a while to actually beat the game. He does work full time, plus raise 4 kids, so I'd say he plays 5-6 hours per week.
I just bought him Call of Duty: World at War, which he likes a lot too...

Everything i have heard about mirrors edge is that its really bad (so I cant speak personally because i haven't bought it) but if you liked fable 1 you will love 2, its really fun and even tho the main story is somewhat short, there's lots of other quests and stuff to do. If you like scary FPSers tho, I suggest Dead Space. More game for your dollar and its really challenging and fun. But all in all I think you will enjoy Fable. Have fun!!!
