I'm Charles, I'm 7 and not very good at games

In super mario bros i can't get past goomba in the start place

i tried running real fast and running other way but it didnt work

what do i do

i want goomba to die

Wait a few seconds until he gets closer to you, then press the right button on the cross-thing and a (to jump).
If you can't do this then just jump over him.
