Well the DSI has more stuff like a camera, a shop for games and way more advanced.BUT THERE'S NO GAMEBOY ADVANCE SLOT! The DS has the gameboy advance game slot which is a plus. I bought the DSI because I have a gameboy advance anyways and I just use my friend's DS for the gameboy advance slot!

Really depends on what you want out of it..The ds light well play ds games and Game boy advanced games and is cheaper. The dsi has the two camras but well not play gameboy advanced games. For that age group I would go with the light as you have more selection of games and the advanced games are pretty cheap so you get more bang for your buck

Get the DS lite who gives about extra camera and all that piece of s h i t on the DSI. Just carry a phone and a DS lite plus the DSI sucks because it doesn't have a gameboy advance slot and it's double the price!!!! if you're a nintendo fan you will love the DS lite and you can do internet on the orginal DS lite you know that.
